The Model

Two paths. One cooperative. Connect, learn, and do — as a person, or as a venture.

Where we are

A nonprofit cooperative, beginning with health systems.

doáb trains people to build ventures that are impactful, purpose-driven, and coherent with our principles — ventures that collaborate globally, demonstrating cooperation, mutual aid, and reciprocity.

Together we are creating a great collective enterprise.

Two names. One work. The Institute for AI Translation holds the method and the evidence. doáb trains the people, forms ventures, and accompanies institutions. Capability stays local.

How it works for individuals

Connect. Learn. Do.

A path for the builder who is still becoming — and for the one who already knows they want to put their skill in service of something that lasts.

01 · Connect

Find the others

Builders, clinicians, and researchers in one cooperative. Not a Slack you never open — a community you can actually work in.

02 · Learn

The craft, with people a step ahead

The discipline of AI Translation, shared repositories, and coaching. Start free with the Briefing. Deepen in membership.

03 · Do

Real work, then a venture you own

Projects in health — a result someone will stand behind. Then, when you are ready, a small team of your own, still inside the cooperative.

How it works for ventures

Join the cooperative. Stay small. Keep what you own.

Most programs hand you advice and wish you luck with the money. We change the economics, take no equity, and stay with the result — not the demo.

Cut your costs

Cooperative economics

Group purchasing and negotiated access to AI tools, plus shared assets, so no venture pays full price to build what every venture needs.

De-risk your sale

Contracts and deal flow

Governments and health systems name a real problem before you build. You are engaged for the outcome, not another dashboard.

Fund the build

Finance that wants the business to stand

A microloan when payment has not arrived. A grant to start, designed to be outgrown. Seed from a circle we trust — patient, no board they don’t want, no growth they don’t choose. Money against a contract once a health system is ready to buy. Surplus from the Fund, returned as the next seed. No traditional venture terms.

Keep your company

No equity taken

Mission-aligned financing so you maintain ownership and are never diluted into unnatural growth. What you build is yours.

A share of surplus from every engagement flows into a common Fund that seeds the next region. Nothing is extracted to distant shareholders.

The engine

Not a pipeline. A loop.

01

Co-create

A common vision, with the people closest to the work.

02

Deliver

Working services on real priorities.

03

Own

Capacity held locally — by builders and by ventures.

04

Reinvest

Into the next translation, and the next team.

What is delivered solves today’s problem. What is built locally increases the capacity to solve tomorrow’s.

What holds it together

One cooperative. Centers, and a global floor.

doáb is one body. It has a place to stand in each geography, and a floor those places share. It is not a franchise. A Center does not license a brand. It becomes the cooperative in that place.

In a place

A doáb Center

The cooperative where the work lives: operated by local members, walking with a health system or a country, forming ventures that stay small and locally owned. A person grows through the work — Fellow, Practitioner, Preceptor — then Faculty or Scholar, by what they hold.

When a Center can deliver, and form the next circle, without a visiting team, it is independent: a member of the cooperative, not a branch of it. Accompaniment continues as a peer relationship.

The shared floor

doáb Global

Not a headquarters. The part of the same cooperative that holds what no single Center should have to rebuild: the training pathway and the frameworks; the gathering and return of learning; the coordination of regions; relationships with industry and technology companies; catalyst funds for challenges several Centers share.

Country and regional partnerships open with the Institute. The aim of that opening is a Center, operated by local members. Guidance and shared infrastructure move out. Learning, evidence, and surplus move back.

Local capacity

People closest to a challenge possess knowledge that cannot simply be imported. They shape the response. Capability stays local.

Global cooperation

Builders learn across borders. What is learned in one Center strengthens work unfolding in another. The floor exists so no Center is alone.

Compounding

Each generation of builders begins from a stronger foundation than the one before it. Surplus seeds the next region.

The model is best understood by taking part in it.
