Artificial intelligence will shape the material and social life of every community on earth. Whether it serves the flourishing of all people depends on who builds with it, where, and toward what end. We believe that communities themselves must lead: that the insight, talent, and aspiration needed to apply these tools already reside in every region, awaiting the means to be released.
The discipline
The work of bringing these two currents into fruitful relation is a discipline in its own right. We call it AI Translation: the practice of carrying frontier capability into the life of society so that it strengthens, rather than displaces, the agency of people and their institutions. It asks not only what a technology can do, but what a community is ready to receive, sustain, and make its own.
doáb is the arena in which this discipline is applied, learned, and refined: a place where practitioners are formed, methods are tested in real conditions, and knowledge flows back to the whole.
The model
doáb is a nonprofit that launches local venture studios devoted to applying AI to genuine human needs, joined by a cooperative that opens access to shared services, coaching, and education.
Small, capable teams rooted in their own communities, building enterprises that answer real needs in health, education, and economic life. Ownership and leadership remain local from the first day.
Members retain what they create while sharing reciprocally in services, tools, and collective strength. What each contributes returns many times over through the whole.
We facilitate ecosystems in which cycles of study, consultation, reflection, and action unfold at the level of cohorts. In partnership with academic institutions and providers of certification, individual education matures into applied, collective progress.

Where we begin
Our first demonstration project is underway, held quietly for now until its foundations are secure. It is a countrywide partnership, uniting national institutions, academic collaborators, and local leaders around a field of pressing human need. Its purpose is to prove a pattern: that when frontier capability is translated into the hands of a community, it becomes a lasting capacity rather than a passing intervention. What is learned there will be carried to other regions by those who make it their own.
